Pam's Monthly Insights
September 2005
Hello all
Welcome to my newest subscribers, and thanks to those who took time to contact me with thoughts, comments, questions and stories.
It's September, one of my favorite months, the kids are finally back in school and the holiday craziness is still several weeks away. Now I can buckle down to work and enjoy the best weather California has to offer all year! Well...except for a quick trip to DC and Aruba.
Watch for me in "Biography" Magazine which will hit the stands Sept 14th.
Last month we talked about dreams and mine immediately became more active. Days before the disaster in New Orleans I dreamed about water suddenly flooding around me and clinging onto a ledge to keep my head above water while slowly working my way to safety. I now recognize that "ledge" as a levee. Did anyone else get warnings?
In this issue, I will touch on intuition, emotional balance and empathy in the face of disaster. In times like these, balance is imperative.

For anyone, watching the news this week is heart breaking. For highly sensitive, intuitive people, it's gut wrenching, literally. We sit riveted to the pictures of a great historic town under water and people clinging to car roofs and housetops waiting to be rescued. It's difficult to look and harder not to. Intuitive and sensitive souls need to carefully set boundaries during times of national tragedy because collective pain is a powerful force...difficult to escape if you are highly sensitive.
In order to stay emotionally and physically healthy you must take a break from the trauma. Do what you can to help then turn off the news and the disturbing images flooding your subconscious. Donate money to the Red Cross, know that you did whatever you could so you feel good and then let go. Go for a walk in nature where there are fewer people. Breathe in deeply and release all stress. Even if people are not discussing the disaster (and who isn't?) they are feeling it and that energy is especially heavy in public places. If you are sensitive, you are absorbing it, weather you know it or not. If you feel depressed, angry or fearful but don't know why, you are probably absorbing trauma energy. I often feel it a few days before the disaster. I cried for three days before 9/11 and couldn't figure out what on earth was wrong with me.
If you are feeling the stress there are some things you can do. As mentioned above, getting away from the masses for a while is helpful. Taking a hot bath or shower actually cleanses negative energy from your aura. Take a few minutes to write down the things you are grateful for in your life...the people and things that make your heart sing. Better yet, tell them. That will put you back into a healthier balance. When you do go out in public, imagine yourself inside a bubble of gold or white light that deflects negative energy and keeps you safe and protected. This is amazingly powerful.
During my early days as a psychic detective, I had to learn to let people have their tragedies and not take them on as my own. I learned to be there and use my talent, to lend emotional support and strength, but still create happiness and fulfillment in my own life. It's taken me years to get some sort of healthy balance. In these turbulent times, balance is crucial.

Letters. A few touching letters I received this week. Thank you!
"Just as you said on the phone, I have traveled a lot. Since you and I talked I got two more job offers and traveled to San Jose, San Francisco and San Diego." - Jason
I just wanted to express my appreciation for the time that you took out of your busy schedule to provide me with excellent service. The insights that you told me relevant to my future were very uplifting and gave me the faith and push that I need at this time during my adjustment to new changes in my life. It also amazed me how on target you were about my three daughters and their personalities without my having told you anything about them and the other things that you shed light on relevant to me." - JoAnn
I am not sure I thanked you for our conversation a couple of weeks ago - but thank you, speaking with you is like speaking with a good friend who has incredible insight, and I appreciate it. I am as always amazed when events you share, take place." - Rossanna
I just saw you on the Sci Fi channel. You are the first person with proclaimed psychic ability that I have ever seen where my intuition tells me that you are truthful in your claim. I believe you-- and I simply never have before. Thank you for that...adds a bit of that ole' excitement for existence -- that shines through so rarely in ones life." - Todd

Before every consultation I set goals for my time with you. I meditate and sense what you need most from our time together. Thanks for letting me know I'm getting it right.

Happiness Doesn't Have to be Elusive
How many times have you thought "I will be happy when I meet that great guy, get a better job, move, etc.? Happiness isn't something "over there" some where, happiness is always attainable on some level. We become so focused on the thing that is missing we lose sight of what IS right and what IS available to us now and what does give us pleasure.
If you dislike your job and wish you were doing something else, start doing that something else in your spare time. If you no longer enjoy your home and wish to move, do something to make yourself feel better about your space right now. Paint is an inexpensive and quick improvement that can change the mood of any room, right now. If you feel lonely, get out and volunteer. If you wish there was a man in your life to buy you flowers, buy some for yourself. Maybe it's not the same, but it's still a nice pick me up. If you long for romantic walks on the beach, go alone or with your favorite dog. A beautiful sunset is still a beautiful sunset to be enjoyed. If you are just bored and restless, think of things you can do to add a little excitement. Learn something new, visit places you've never been. No need to wait for excitement to find you.
Every day take a few minutes to ask yourself, what can I do to make myself happier on this day...then do it.

Pam's Book Review
A Mind for Murder Noreen Renier with Naomi Lucks. I finally had time to read Noreen's new book and found it fascinating. I was stunned by so many parallels in our lives and how we both ended up on this path quite unexpectedly. For me, it was also interesting to read about someone else's experiences in this field. If you are interested in what it's like to be a psychic investigator, you will enjoy this book.
