Pam's Monthly Insights
July 2006

Hello friends,

Welcome to my newest subscribers and "hi" to my long time readers. I've answered your questions this month, so if you like the article, keep them coming, info@pamcoronado.com. July is due to be an exciting month for me as Sensing Murder is set to sneak preview on July 6th. Please check your local listings for time. We need all the viewers we can get so please tell your friends, relatives and strangers on the street. Enjoy and keep in mind that the hair and makeup lady was fired after this episode and it was bitter cold when we were filming outside.

I'm home for six weeks or so and can't wait to start enjoying summer and my first ever mini cruise to Mexico later this month. It's a test run for bigger and longer trips in the future? I owe a few of you personal emails, Ron & Marcia, so don't disown me if I've been slow to respond. It's great to be home where I can catch up on personal readings, correspondence and get in some sun and fun. I hope you take time for a few lazy days of summer too.

Another perfect reason to take things slow and easy this month is Mercury retrograde. For those who don't know what this means, it means try not to sign important papers, make life altering decisions or buy a new cell phone or computer. Mercury retrograde means lost papers, missed appointments and not being able to reach people (cars like to break down too). The best thing is to go with the flow, pour yourself some iced tea, start that book you've been meaning to read and enjoy your summer. I've written a whole article on how to make the best of this energy.

Quote of the month

James Dent

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken.

Your Questions Answered

Pam, what is your brain type? Uh, smart I hope. Is there one for "a little different"? Seriously, this was a fascinating and insightful little quiz you might enjoy too. www.braintypes.com/questionnaire.htm I am an ENFP.

Pam, when you see a flash of an image (say a flag) how can you make the picture come in clearer? Great question. The short answer is the more you try to force it into focus the fuzzier it will become. If you saw a flash of green, for instance, then you would say to yourself, okay I see green is there another color there? At that point you may see a flash of white. If you sense there is something in the middle but can't make it out, then you ask yourself is this curved or sharp angels? You should get another flash of an image like a circle or square. It's much like playing 20 questions with your subconscious.

Pam, my intuition seems to have stopped working. Is it gone for good or will it come back? You can't lose your intuition since it's inherent to who you are. You can lose touch with it though if you get so busy with every day life that you forget to call on it. Just the awareness that you've lost touch with your intuitive nature and your desire to bring it back should be enough to get the juices flowing again. I have also seen studies revealing that if you're system is lacking in Vitamin B (which is depleted by stress) you may stop dreaming and/or feeling "psychic". I have also noticed that the more I use it the stronger it becomes, like a muscle that needs exercise.

Pam, what is your sign? Taurus with Aquarius rising. Yes, bull headed AND independent.

Pam, are you ever wrong? Yes and no. My intuitive impressions are almost always correct but I can and do interpret them wrong. This is why it is so important to report only what you see, "green, white and circle" and leave it be. That raw information will probably be correct. But when you try to turn it into something then you are headed for error. The minute your logic kicks in you are in trouble. Here's a great example. I was working on a missing woman case. I saw a canal and then something white which felt like metal to me. I said "I think she is in a canal in one of those metal or cement drainage pipes ... maybe a cement bridge with a metal drainage pipe below." She was found a few days later about 20 feet from a canal in an abandoned old white refrigerator. Did I see her in the canal? No. I made that leap logically. I turned the white metal into something my rational brain expected instead of something unexpected.

Pam, I'm psychic, how can I break into this field? Very carefully. I always tell people who believe they want to work with detectives that this is grisly business and not for the faint at heart. It takes the ability to distance yourself emotionally from the things you see and not everyone is cut out for it. If you still want to forge ahead, you must prove yourself to the department you wish to work with. You must look professional, act professional and speak to them in their language not yours. Don't talk about auras and spirit guides. Don't approach them during a high profile case because you will quickly be shown the door. Approach the department when nothing major is happening and offer to be tested on a few solved cases. If you can impress them they will call you when something comes up. You may want to practice first!

Pam, how do your images come to you? Usually one of two ways. Either I see a flash of a still image (similar to a post card) or I see a 3 to 5 second action clip. Either way, I have to remember what I saw because I can't bring it back in exactly the same form. I write down everything I can remember about what I saw or say it before I forget .. similar to recalling a dream.

Pam, when I Sensing Murder going to air? July 6th.

How to Benefit from Mercury Retrograde

Above, I told you what not to do. Now I can give you some ideas on what TO do while Mercury is retrograde this entire month of July. Anything that starts with RE is the rule.

RECONNECT. Have you been estranged from someone or simply out of touch. Now is the time to reconnect with people from your past. Don't be surprised if you 'just happen' to hear from or run into people you haven't seen in ages.

REWRITE or REDO. If something needs to be rewritten, reworked or redone, now is the time. Mercury in retrograde is meant to have us finish and perfect old projects before moving on to new. Dust off that old manuscript and rework it. Rewrite anything and it will come out much better than the original.

REAPPLY. Looking for a job? Go back to contacts you have already made. Check with employers and friends you've worked with in the past. Follow up on old applications.

REPAIR, REPLACE, REFINISH. Now is the time to fix those things you've been meaning to fix or replace (as long as they are not big ticket items). Finish just one undone project and you will see how energetic you suddenly feel. You may think these energy drainers are hidden away but your subconscious knows they're there.

REORGANIZE. This one is pretty self explanatory

If you only feel like lazing around, enjoying summer and don't feel like doing any of these things then I suggest you get your car tuned up, backup your hard drive and go ahead and RELAX.

This article first ran in January. Since people are off on vacation this month or planning one, I wanted to rerun it as a reminder. I don't necessarily suggest Sedona this summer but you'll get the idea. The red woods and ocean work too. During the filming of a few of our shows I was fortunate to experience nature in different but equally exciting ways, from the magnificent Rocky mountains to the green water in Oregon to miles and miles of corn fields in Illinois.

The Healing Power of Nature

As I mentioned above, I once again had the pleasure of visiting Sedona. I am inexplicably drawn to the place. Not a desert type person, I find the little city nestled into the red rocks simply fascinating and the views breathtaking. As written by Sedona Astrologer, Haizen Paige for The Cosmic Palette.

"My personal feeling is that the entire city of Sedona is one big huge vortex of intensified, accelerated energy, and this may explain why people seem to either love it here, or can't stand the city at all and leave suddenly in the middle in the night for more familiar territory.

People touched by genuine Vortex Power tend to experience a sense of inward stillness or silence. I think it would be fair to say that the Vortex People are interested in these invisible energies and the silence as much as they are in Sedona's actual physical beauty, so you will see a lot of young people with backpacks heading for these areas. People camping out in the forest waiting for their spiritual revelation. People seeking a "healing" of some kind. People tired of the rat race and looking for some relief. People exhausted by the insensitivity of city life and looking for sanctuary for a day, a week, a year -- for a lifetime. Some are searching for the sacred and for a connection with ancient Indian cultures in order to understand or help preserve them."

I say Haizen hit it right, for me anyway. I personally made the trek exhausted from busy city life and looking for some silence and relief. I am never disappointed when climbing to the top of a red rock or vortex where the view is so stunning I suddenly feel very small. We need to feel small and awestruck every so often in order to keep our perspective. I hope that if you do one thing for yourself in 2006, you visit a place that makes you feel small and rejuvenates your soul. Getting in touch with nature will help you get in touch with yourself.

Media

Sensing Murder. A few words about how this show was filmed which you won't hear during the show. Laurie Campbell and I were kept in the dark about where we were going until one week before departure, when we received our airline tickets. After our arrival we were kept apart so we could not compare notes or influence one another. We were teamed up with different detectives who are also kept from discussing the case with one another during the duration of filming. The only feedback Laurie and I received is what you will see on camera. (We were debriefed later) Laurie and I are not allowed internet access or email during the filming of the show so we can't research the case ... Discovery doesn't understand that we are too smart for that. We both understand that the less we know the better. Still, I respect them for keeping the integrity of the show. So what you see will actually be our true reactions and process not a reenactment. Nerves of steel, baby.

The other exciting thing I have in the works is my book. I have teamed up with a great writer named Charles Salzberg and we are having fun putting a proposal together. He has so much experience that he's making it easy and I am sooo grateful he has taken on this project!

Pam's Book Review

I received this book for Mother's Day and enjoyed it as much as the first one. The Secret Life of Water by Masaru Emoto.

The first one? Water Crystal Oracle.

Thanks to all of you who have written to say nice things about my newsletter. I hope you continue to enjoy it and it brings fulfillment or joy to you in some way. Happy 4th of July!
