Pam's Monthly Insights
December 2005

Hello friends,

Welcome to my newest subscribers, and thanks to those who took time to contact me with thoughts, comments, questions and stories.

I love December for several reasons but also know that the holidays are not easy for many. This month I will talk about the importance of joy and fun and silliness, especially for spiritual seekers. Forget the stress and have fun this year. I also love this month because it's time to prepare for a brand new year and start planning all of the things we want to create for ourselves in 2006. We will explore that too. Since this is the month of love and family, I've written about someone special in my family, my son Michael.

As you see, I have a catchy new name for my newsletter. Thanks to Shahla who receives a complimentary ½ hour reading. I'll be peeking around the corner to see what 2006 holds for her! So many of you sent great ideas, that I couldn't respond to all of you personally. Thank you, thank you. You may also notice that I am a week late releasing this month's issue. That's because I've been out of town filming the pilot for a new series I'll be appearing in next year. I was waiting for word from the legal department to tell you more but haven't received it yet ... maybe next month.

I heard from many of you after the A&E special "Mediums-We See Dead People" aired ... again. I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the kind comments. I recently received a call from Georgia and was told that searching will resume in February.

Quotes of the month:

Aristotle

"Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence."

Frederick William Faber

"There are souls in this world which have the gift of finding joy everywhere and of leaving it behind them when they go."

Andy Rooney

"One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don't clean it up too quickly."

Joy and Silliness

Something I have noticed in my contacts with my guides is that they are very light hearted, even when dealing with serious situations. My guide, Lisa, often giggles and laughs and tells me to lighten up on a regular basis. "You humans are so sad and serious." she tells me. Lisa is very childlike. Lisa explains that learning to lighten up has more than one obvious benefit. In fact, Lisa tells me that finding joy and love on earth is the ultimate purpose of life. Our mission is not to struggle and toil but to love and create and have fun. Who knew? That sounds like a great assignment to me. I have noticed that people who get serious about becoming spiritual often get ... well, serious.

When we are feeling stressed, sad, sorry for ourselves or angry, we move further and further away from our true spirit nature. The further we are from our true spirit nature, the harder it is for us to attract the things of our heart. Christmas season is the perfect time to let your hair down and set that inner child free. Instead of trying to be perfect and create the perfect holiday, how about being more relaxed and FUN to be around? Do the things that you honestly enjoy this season and let go of the long list of "shoulds". Feel the tension wash away just thinking about letting go of one "should do".

During the holidays many people go into mourning for the loved ones who are no longer with them. They focus so much on who isn't there they are forgetting to love and appreciate who is. Those who have passed away are still with us on the holidays and want to see you enjoying yourself. So make a toast to those you love and miss and remember that you are still spiritually connected and nothing can take that away. Then set about enjoying those who are with you this holiday season.

Be sure to count your blessings this holiday season so you can continue to attract more next year. Every time you focus on anything, what's right or what isn't, you are telling the Universe, more please. Be sure and order up more of the good stuff.

Creating your ideal 2006

What if you had a magic keyboard where everything you wrote came true and you could sit down and write the script of your life for the coming year? Well, you can. I have done it many times. (the first time by accident, but that's another story for another time) Things may not turn out exactly as you wrote them but then that would be boring. Some delightful surprises never hurt anyone. Sometimes things work out better than you could have imagined.

The trick is writing it, putting it away and getting on with life. I've heard so many excuses on why people are too busy to sit and write out a happy plan. Are you kidding?? If I knew it was going to work, I'd give up an extra hour of sleep or a mindless tv show one evening. No one is that busy.

Let me give you an example. A few months ago, I sat and wrote what I wanted a typical day in the life of Pam to be. I chose a day of "on location" work because I was wanting my tv series to become a reality. I wrote that I would be able to sleep in, have a bit of time to meditate, get in a workout at the hotel gym, and a light breakfast. Then I would shower, dress and get to the set for hair and makeup. I would film in the afternoon until dinner and then enjoy dinner out with the crew. I could then go for a Jacuzzi or head back to my room for rest and phone calls to the family.

Sounds fun? That's exactly how my last shoot went. I hadn't looked at that paper for several weeks and pulled it out when I returned and realized what had happened. This is a fun, yet powerful exercise. Try it. Where do you want to be in Feb, July, and December 2006? What's your ideal day look like?

The Joys of Art

This is the perfect season to think about creative pursuits. Art, or shall I say, creative inspiration, comes from the same place intuition does, at least in my opinion. As a youngster, I was discontent and restless if I wasn't creating in some form, writing, painting, dance or music. I made the connection early on ... these things soothed my soul. Now, I understand that I was connecting with source which gave me a break from day to day stress. Creative expression is actually a form of meditation because it requires focus and an openness to whatever comes to mind. I believe the mental discipline I use in my work now stems from the artistic discipline I learned when I was young. I remember going off to dance class and loving the fact that it took complete focus and concentration for an entire hour. I couldn't worry about anything other than the position of my feet.

So think about giving a creation of your own as a gift this year. Something that comes from the heart is not only special for the receiver but a gift for you as well. One of the most touching gifts I have ever gotten was a song. Time spent being creative is time spent learning to connect to spirit and that can only strengthen your intuitiveness.

Next month I will be putting some of my talented daughter's paintings on my web site for you to enjoy and maybe a few of mine too.

Media

Since I am focusing on family this issue...

For those who don't know and haven't seen it, there is a documentary about me and my kids as a special feature on the Final Destination movie DVD, which can be rented at any Blockbuster. It was made years ago when the kids were much younger and was my first exposure to the public. To say it was nerve wracking to have my personal life put out there is an understatement. I did it for my special friend, Alan Vaughan, who asked me to just before he died, and the teens the violent movie was targeted for. I wanted them to know that intuition can save you and not to fear or ignore it.

Pam's Book Review

If you have ever wanted to ask God a question, or like me, several questions, Neal Donald Walsch's book, Conversations with God, allows you to do this vicariously through the author. One day, while ranting at God for what Neal felt was his miserable life, God...talked back. After assuring himself this was not the product of an overactive imagination, Neal Donald Walsch embarked upon a life changing experience of transcribing God's answers to questions he has always wanted to know the answers to. Most of them are questions we have all asked at one time or another. This New York Times best seller is a trilogy that has sold over 12 million copies in over 37 countries. For those of you looking for answers, a new perspective, or a fascinating read, start with book one--and keep an open mind.
