Pam's Monthly Insights
August 2005

Hello all,

Welcome to my newest subscribers, and thanks to those who took time to contact me with thoughts, comments, questions and stories. In fact, it was a new subscriber who inspired my subject this month ... DREAMS. It was the mention of someone very special in my life who passed away four years ago that led me to focus on dreams this month. Some may already know his name and some may find his work a new avenue of study. Alan Vaughan was one of the world's foremost experts on dreams and dream research. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to him because of the powerful dreams I was experiencing early in the 90's. In fact, Alan played a large role in my stepping into the public eye by convincing me to participate in the Final Destination documentary before he passed.

Dreams are a mysterious and often overlooked form of communication between subconscious and conscious. Dreams are gifts from the soul.

P.S. Sorry to those who have patiently tried to view my program on the Discovery Channel. Not sure what is happening there. Interestingly enough, after I decided to do this issue, I was contacted by CNN for an interview about prophetic dreams.

Quote of the month:

Jonas Salk

"It is always with excitement that I wake up in the morning wondering what my intuition will toss up to me, like gifts from the sea. I work with it and rely on it. It's my partner."

The Dream that Started it All

Most of you probably know it was a dream that entirely changed the direction of my life and set me on this path. I was a mother of three young children and part-time graphic designer when my life took a dramatic turn. I had always had very interesting and vivid dreams (even a few prophetic dreams) but on this night I knew my dream was important and was led to write it down. In the dream, I was being murdered by my husband and his lover when I saw an angel motioning for me to fly away with her to the most beautiful place I had ever seen. I felt humbled and unworthy of entering this kingdom. The man in the dream was not my real life husband, of course. About three days later I saw an article in the newspaper about a man and his lover who were under suspicion in his wife's disappearance. The man in the photo was the man in my dream. This strange event shook me to my core. It took some time and soul searching but I finally stepped forward and helped a search party locate this woman. A week later I was called by another desperate family needed help in finding their daughter's killer ... and so began my career as a psychic detective.

Much earlier than this, however, I had another dream that I haven't shared publicly before now. I was actively seeking and searching for my life purpose. I knew I wanted to make a difference in the world but hadn't any idea how my life could be used. I continually asked for a sign. Then one night I had a dream. In the dream, I was searching for a missing young woman. I was walking along a trail in the woods with a dog searching for this woman that I didn't even know. I felt the responsibility and weight of my task but the dog (who's name was Lisa) was leading me, helping me. I understood that I wasn't alone. I remember thinking how strange that the dog's name was Lisa! It was some time later that I learned that my guardian angel's name is Lisa. I now work on a regular basis with a k-9 search and rescue team in the woods.

This dream made little sense to me at the time but now it's crystal clear. What are your dreams telling you? Confused about your life purpose? Ask for a dream or a sign then be sure to put a pencil and pad of paper on your nightstand to show your subconscious that you are going to pay attention to the answer. You will get an answer in some shape or form.

Success, sweet success!

"You're too sensitive"

I want to thank the men who wrote to me to tell me that they had always been called "too sensitive" by friends and family. Not easy for a man. After reading my article on being intuitive in the June issue, several wrote to me excitedly to say they realized that being "too sensitive" is actually a strength! Yes it is men. Having a strong inner guidance system is definitely an advantage. Be proud and soon you will find that women love this about you.

Dreams Come True

For some time I have been coaching an unbelievable woman. She came to me at an extremely low period in her life. Her husband was battling cancer and serious depression. She was struggling to care for him and earn a living to support them both. She had no family support and little income. This is a woman in her late 60's, another intuitive, who also has a PhD in psychology. I am so happy to announce that this special lady turned her life around dramatically! We have been working on positive thinking and manifesting techniques for over a year. Her husband is now cancer free and she is starting her own TV show which will debut in August. I couldn't be more proud and inspired by Dr. Marcia Emery. Watch her new show, "Dream Decoders", August 17 on Discovery Health.

Dream Tigers

I am writing this article in honor of my great friend, teacher and inspiration, Alan Vaughan. Alan writes in his book The Edge of Tomorrow. (Chapter 3) "When we go to sleep at night and dream, the corridors of our minds are stalked by what I call dream tigers, our personal guardians of safety. When a dream tiger scents the approach of danger he sends us a terrifying dream to wake us up so we can flee the approaching menace. Evolved millions of years ago, the dream tiger speaks in symbols and pictures but can be trained to speak English. If you pay no attention to your dream tiger- if you make no effort to remember or understand your dreams- the frustrated dream tiger may give you terrifying dreams to get your attention."

I am a living example of that! I was plagued for months by frightening crime dreams before I finally started to acknowledge and work with them. According to Vaughan, when our earliest ancestors lived in the dangerous jungle there was constant danger from predators, especially when they were sleeping. Dream tigers would scan the environment for danger every 90 minutes and if needed would send an alarming dream to wake the sleeper up, especially children who would cry out and wake the parents.

Our modern world doesn't call for such extreme nightly protection so we can ask our dream tigers for dreams of promise and guidance. What we often now need is guidance about our present situation- or direction, or help in solving a problem that confronts us. Ask your dream tiger for guidance. If you have difficulty remembering your dreams, here are a few tips. Before you fall asleep, tell yourself that you will remember your dream upon waking. Have paper and pencil available to write your dream immediately. Give your dream a title, like a story, to help you remember it. Since you usually remember the last part of the dream the easiest, ask yourself, "What came before that?" and work backwards.

Once you have your dream, then what? If you find the symbols confusing, start by recalling the emotions you were feeling during the dream. Were you happy, struggling, frustrated, powerful, etc.? Did you overcome your obstacles? How? Did you dream of someone else taking action in your dream? This may be guidance for you to take that action. If you want to work with your dreams, email me for book suggestions. Unfortunately, Alan Vaughn's books are hard to get your hands on because they have been out of print for so many years. Try your local library.

Pam's Book Review

I am going to start by saying that this is my favorite manifesting book EVER. No question. Don't let the title throw you. Yes, the book is about creating prosperity, but it is really about creating ANYTHING you want in life. It is the easiest to understand, most inspiring book I have ever read on manifesting and creating the life of your dreams. I love this book and get excited every time I pick it up (which is daily). Since reading it, I have quadrupled my income, improved some key relationships in my life and seen exciting developments in my career. I even got the new bathroom remodel I have wanted for so long. All in a matter of three weeks! How to be Wildly Wealthy Fast by Sandra Forster.
